Is This Abuse?

Wed, Oct 29th 2003

I have a history of dating psychologically abusive men. I haven't dated in over a year. I recently started seeing someone. I unconsciously recognized symptoms of abuse and reacted physically and emotionally to them. An example would be: We went out one night and he told me to call him after I got home. He then could not talk. The next day, he calls and we arrange for me to pick him up. He will call me in 1/2 hour. He never calls back. He then gets upset because I pull back from his arm. He humiliates me sexually by stating that I am not taking the right precautions sexual wise when I haven't been in a sexual relationship for a long time. Then, he doesn't call at all for a few days and pops back up. I reacted with very mixed signals, became very depressed and felt very rejected. After I thought about it, I realized I was having a reaction to his behavior. Please tell me if you think that I am right in considering this emotional abuse.
