Supported Employment (*Employment Services) are programs that are funded through Vocational Rehabilitation, Medicaid Waiver and APD General Revenue The goal of these programs is to assist individuals with disabilities to secure and maintain competitive community employment. This service provides individuals with a sense of independence, accomplishment and pride and the opportunity to become a vital contributing factor into their local economy. *Supported Living is a service that is provided to Medicaid Waiver and APD General Revenue Clients with the goal of educating and assisting individuals with living as independently as possible while remaining safe in their home and community environment. This program is a support to persons with disabilities in becoming integrated into their community surroundings, learning to navigate available services and contributing vital social and financial support to their local economy.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor Degree in Social, Behavioral, Rehabilitative Science and/or Nursing, or 2 years college in related field with 2 years experience, or 4 years employment in related field in lieu of college. Must be organized, flexible, self-motivated and be able to handle a variety of duties. Must have current CPR, First Aid, HIV/AIDS and Zero Tolerance Certification and Medication Administration Certification. 18 hours Pre Service Supported Employment training, 18 hrs Pre Service Supported Living training and 8 hours Core Competency training. Must be proficient in English and able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Must have the knowledge and skills to deal with a variety of disabilities and behaviors and the ability to handle crisis with customers and funders. Must have reliable transportation, valid Florida Drivers License and current auto insurance; Must maintain acceptable driving record as verified by annual driving record review since this position requires driving as an integral job requirement Must pass UCP drug testing program for initial hire and follow up testing; Must submit to local law and FBI screening and be cleared for employment by both entities 8 hours of program specific continuing education annually for each program; Employment & Living.
