Provides direct care to patients with a behavioral health illness which includes observing and monitoring patient behavior; assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADL); assisting other staff to ensure patients participate in prescribed treatment and activities leading activity groups and community meetings, admitting and orienting pateints to the unit and assuring all unit tasks are completed properly. Work is performed under the close supervision of the unit nurses. High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in the mental health field or health care setting preferred. BHT certification preferred. Must have the ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with patients, co-workers and visitors. Must have leadership skills. Must have a reliable source of transportation, a valid driver's license and automobile insurance (if driving on the job).
Work Environment: Inpatient behavioral health care setting. Fast paced team approach. Multi-tasking, Requires above average time management skills.
