Responsible for assessing whether or not individuals qualify for various programs that offer financial aid from the government, especially in the health care industry. Eligibility sprecialists may work with Medicare, Medicaid, disability claims, or other government sponsored programs. Reports to and functions under the direction, instruction, and supervision of the Provider Services and Baker Act Office Supervisor.
Associate's degree from accredited college plus two years experience as an interviewer or eligibility worker in a public entitlement program or an equivalent combination of education, training or work experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Needs to be able to read and write proficiently, needs to be able to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Avatar.
Must be capable of lifting 20 pounds alone.
General office, health care setting with client contact. Most work completed while seated at desk using standard office equipment. Fast paced team approach. Multi-tasking ability requires above average time management skills.
Provides exceptional customer service in all communications and interactions with staff, clients, and the general public.
